Where was your power of attorney notarised?

The country where the document was notarised determines the apostille procedure.

  1. Notarised in Poland

This service covers Polish notarial documents for use abroad.

  2. Notarised in another country

The document follows the authentication route of that country. The Polish MFA does not directly authenticate a foreign notary’s signature.

How to place your order

Start with a photograph of the document and the recipient’s instructions. We will agree the work, price and timing before you send the original.

01

Send your document

Send photographs of every page and the requirements of the authority receiving your document.

02

Agree the order

We will agree the document needed, work to be done, price, timing and return method.

03

Provide the original

Bring the agreed documents to our office or send them by the delivery method arranged with us.

04

Receive your documents

We will complete the agreed work and return your document with any translation you ordered.

Has your power of attorney been signed, or are you still preparing it?

  1. Already notarised

Tell us the destination, the receiving organisation and what your representative needs to do. Include any existing authentication.

  2. Still preparing the document

Agree the wording with the recipient and have the power of attorney notarised before ordering the apostille. An unsigned draft cannot receive an apostille.

What should you agree with the recipient before signing?

Agree the representative’s powers, the parties’ details and any required institutional template before seeing the notary. Selling property, carrying out a bank transaction and collecting documents require different powers and identifying details.

Check whether the recipient requires a template, specific details of the parties, a description of the action or a translation. Agreeing these before signing can avoid having to prepare the document again. Do not assume that every institution abroad will accept the same wording.

Court authentication before the MFA apostille

The Polish notary’s signature and stamp must be authenticated by the competent regional court before the document is submitted to the MFA for an apostille. The court is determined by where the notary practises.

The MFA requirements for notarial documents specify this prior court authentication. If your document already has it, we check the certification before arranging preparation. Preparation is priced separately from the MFA apostille packages and does not include drafting or notarising the power of attorney.

When should the power of attorney be translated?

Translate a draft before signing when needed to agree its wording or complete the notarial act. Translate the notarised document after the apostille when the translation must also cover that certification.

  1. Before signing

A translation of the draft may be needed. Interpreting at the notarial appointment is a separate service.

  2. After authentication

The translation should cover the parts required by the recipient. Send any existing translation so we can assess whether an addition is enough.

Frequently asked questions about power of attorney apostilles

You can start with photographs. We will agree delivery of the notarised original and its return. Ordering an apostille does not replace any personal attendance required for the notarial act.

Send the complete document and the recipient’s instructions. Later authentication may also need translation, even where the main text is bilingual.

It authenticates the signature and seal. The recipient assesses the powers granted and whether the proposed action is permitted under the applicable rules.

The appropriate certification must be identified first. A signature on a private text does not make it a Polish notarial document.

No. Agree any additional powers with the notary and the recipient.

They are separate stages. Prior court authentication costs 350 zł, followed by the selected MFA package. The notarial act is a separate service.

Not necessarily. Send the endorsement so we can check whether the existing authentication is suitable.

Tell us the exact date and where the document is. We will agree the full timing, including preparation, translation and delivery, before starting.

Yes. Send the complete set and the recipient’s requirements. We will agree the certifications, number of copies and total price.

Send clear photographs of every page, signature, stamp and attached authentication. Include the recipient’s written instructions if available.

Send your document for an apostille

Send a scan of the document using whichever method is convenient. We’ll clarify the details of your case and let you know what else may be needed.
